Blue iridescent rhodoid is a noble material derived from cotton fibre. The method producing it is a carefully guarded secret, kept within the traditions of the Jura mountain region. After seven months of drying in open air, rhodoid, with its multiple contrasts, is produced manually in the workshops of Jean Pierre Lepine.
The cap and the section of the pen are lined with an interior brass structure to guarantee quality. All assemblies are screwed in and glued. Foliage and other decoration is in solid silver and every pen is stamped with the head of Minerva (a French government guarantee), along with the master craftmen's seal of Jean Pierre Lepine. The ivy leaves are reworked with a burin.
A silver hand-crafted pin in the shape of an ivy leaf accompanies the pen in the presentation box. The box itself is wooden with a soft felt interior. Also included is a certificate of authenticity and a booklet detailing the edition. The pen is number 91 out of 1000 pieces in the blue rhodoid.
This complete set includes original inner and outer boxes. Also includes original certificate of authenticity.
